INTRODUCTION
The Helping Hands Committee is a group of citizens who attended
an Appalachian Leadership Development Program at the Brushy Fork Institute
of Berea College, Berea, KY. We undertook to create and distribute a
directory of resources available to citizens of Giles County. Because
Giles is a rural area, many of the resources are not located in the county.
The Committee believes that people are Giles County's best
resource. This directory is being distributed free to every household
in Giles County. We hope you will find it so helpful that you will
contribute both time and money toward the next edition. The Committee
also would like to develop a bank of volunteers. If you would like to
participate in this project, please contact the committee at the address
supplied below.
