During the spring of 1995, Giles County was one of two school divisions in the United States selected for a unique "service learning" project developed by the

Close Up Foundation. A representative group of teachers from each school began a project that continues to grow within the schools of Giles County.

As a result of our on-going work with SETS, lesson plans are being developed for use with this project by teachers from all schools in Giles County. Some of these plans are being placed on line for other teachers who might be interested in adding "service learning" to their instructional program.
