History Club

Giles High School's history club was formed by Mr. W. R. Johnston in the fall of 1986. The purpose of the History club is to get students involved in history and to make history appealing to them. The club is funded toward that goal and sponsors numerous activities throughout the year for the students to gain new knowledge and to go through new experiences. One of the events done in history club is National History Day. There also are several essay competitions students can get involved in. Many students who is involved in this club has won numerous awards and scholarships including Regional Championships in stock market simulations , the Lee-Jackson scholarships, Regional, State and National Competitions in the National History Competitions and Society of the Cincinnati Scholarships.
